In late March we went on a bicycling adventure in Holland, along with Roger and Peg. Our home for a week was the motor barge Iris, which traversed the canals to our next stop while we got lots of exercise getting there by land. Fortunately, Holland is flatter than Florida. We spent a couple of days in Amsterdam on both ends of the schedule — eating, doing museums, art galleries and general sightseeing. We also were able to take the train to Groningen and visit our friends Theo and Gerda in their little hamlet of Midlaren which is home to 5000 year old hunebedden megaliths..
The tulips and the other flowers were spectacular. The weather was probably what tulips really enjoy. We had some rain every day and on three of the days hail was bouncing off our helmets. But we had a great time and saw many new things.
